Please Excuse

So..... it's been kinda quiet around these parts for a while.

I've been having a hard time in the classroom this year - I feel like my passion for teaching is dwindling. I do the best I can with what I've been given, but at the end of the day, I just want to...

1. Go home as soon as possible.
2. Turn off my brain.
3. Not talk about it.
4. Not write about it.
5. Not read what other people are saying about their teaching (see number 2).

If I haven't been around to your blog in a while, please don't take it personally! You may not see any posts from me for a bit until I can find wherever I've misplaced my creativity and my passion. Or perhaps it's just time to say goodbye! I've been blogging about teaching for more than FIVE YEARS. Maybe I've run out of things to say?!

In either case, I'm going to take some time to reevaluate my reasons and goals for blogging. Thanks in advance for understanding!!

No excuses necessary. We all have rough patches as a result of an exhausting job. Do let us know if there is any way for this crowd to help.

Everyone needs a bloggy break once in a while!

It happens! Don't feel bad. If we can help somehow, let us know- but I can definitely understand needing to just distance yourself from all things teaching for awhile.

If you need to, post about some non-teaching things! I don't mind- I read blogs because of not just teaching ideas, but also because I like reading about the person behind them.

Take a break. Enjoy the Holidays and think about yourself for awhile. Teaching is just plain hard work. Come visit when you can.

It is an exhausting profession. This Friday was the first Friday, in 7 years, I was excited to be away from school for a few days! I completely understand!

We can't wait for you to tell us live for Christmas about stuff. Thank you so much for your faithfulness on this blog for so many years...great way to stay in touch, but the effort would be a burden. Relax and write your book!

I'd be sad to see you go, but if it's needed, you have to do it! Especially if it will lead you to find something within yourself to love what you're doing again!
