Yes but remember you married a crazy woman

In a way, it's nice that the school year starts with a week of inservice meetings. It kind of eases you back into the routine of work.

But still...

You know how when you're a little kid who doesn't want to go to bed, you make up all of these excuses to get out of bed? Like... I need a drink of water, I need to give mom one more hug, I need to use the bathroom, I need to check on my goldfish, I need, I need, I need.

Well last night was kind of the same way for me. I was procrastinating on going to bed because I knew that as soon as I did, I'd have to wake up to an early alarm! I need to pack my lunch, I need to get my water bottle, I need to pack my teacher bag, I need to go cry a little, I need to put this stuff away....

And then usually when I was young, I would be told at some point: "Alright, that's enough. Stay in bed this time." But last night, Max just watched me packing some things and asked (with his toothbrush in his mouth): "Couldn't you do some of this tomorrow morning?"

Yep- I had the same night! I couldn't sleep at all though! Now I am SO tired, I think I WILL sleep tonight (praise the lord). I hope your first day back was great.

I wish my school started today being a principal I love whipping those teachers into chalkboard tough and all...

I feel the same way, that if I procrastinate sleeping long enough, I will buy myself time. Instead, the morning comes that much faster!

I always think that there are 2 night before school nights -- one for meeting the teachers and one for meeting the students -- and 2 completely different outfits required for each! Hope the week is coming along! :-)

Hope your first day was great! My husband doesn't understand my need to finish things up before bed either. But mine is more I'll forget something if I stop before it's done :-P

I'm catching up on blog reading after a few days of camping....hope your day was good, on to your next post!

Sorry about the camping reference...I don't start my school-based job until several weeks AFTER the kids start, so the teachers can figure out who needs social skills help....then I come in!
