And then I had fun filling it with all of our little treasures:

On the top of the bookshelf is a clock that belonged to Max's grandfather (a gift from GM, in fact!). On the first two rows are my scrapbooks and journals, some hand drawn paintings of various European cities, a handmade pottery vase (a wedding gift from a college roommate), and some wedding pictures. On the bottom two rows are Max's various textbooks: religion, languages, and psychology. Oh, and can you spot the cat? She's probably wondering if that will be a safe place to hide from the dog...
Here's the view from the other side of the living room:

Home home on the range looks great...
I love all of the little extras you added! We need a book case something awful, but I haven't figured out where I can squeeze one into yet!
My husband says "No more bookcases." I have an obsession with books. The colors and smell and feel in your hand. I really need help. When I first moved out the only thing I had was a futon and two book shelves. I need a house with a library. I love the clock & the cat!
I just need to move into the library and that would settle everything -- I'm never without a book. I'm still trying to decide what color to paint my living room. It's hard when rooms sort of blend with each other -- can't figure out where to stop...looks lovely.
I made a similar IKEA purchase a few years back. I love how the array of neat little cubes make everything look so orderly!
Love it, Sabedeedee!!! Do the cats try to climb up it and sit on top?
I have the same bookcase! I love it.
Love the bookcase!!
The house looks GREAT!!!! I hope I can see it in person soon :)
