OMG! Homophones!

I was going through a stack of student work this morning and almost fell off my chair laughing when I saw this:

This was an assignment to illustrate sets of homophones and write a sentence for each one under their respective flap. One of my dear students wrote and drew this masterpiece for the word "weight":

And just in case you missed it:

Did you see the hand to the face? Priceless!

I love when kids are not aware of what they share! I tell parents I will only believe half of what the kids say about their parents, if they only believe half of what the kids say about me! Great foldable idea, too! I only have three teaching days left and then SUMMER! I'm ready for a break from the grown--ups, not the kids.

My concern is that she wrote "some" and "sun". Those aren't homophones.

That is hysterical and awesome in every way. You know kids everywhere are witnessing that very scene on a daily basis. Man, what I wouldn't give to weigh 169. My kid would be witnessing a totally different scene.

Thanks for sharing and giving me a good laugh.

Stopping by from SITS.

That is hysterical. I'm a teacher as well and I always say if you want to know the truth ask a kid. They are honest to a fault.

Great drawing--observant down to the tenth of a pound! I wonder if that quote coming out of the mom's mouth was verbatim....
