a delicious mistake

This is day two in Alabama with the grandfolks, and day two of all-you-can-eat buffet dinners.

Each time, the food has been quite delicious, but there's just something about a buffet that makes you forget all of your common sense and ignore that little voice that keeps telling you: "Stop eating, you pig! Do you want to end up like that oversized lady over there?" Instead, you're like "I can't hear you lalalalalalala" as you stuff more ribs into your mouth.

And eating at a buffet when you're on vacation is a double-whammy because you think: "I don't need to eat healthy - I'm on VACATION". So you pile on the fried shrimp and get a second helping of ice cream.

And then when it's time to leave, you find yourself struggling to get up from the table... all of that deliciousness is keeping you anchored to your chair.

If you had been eavesdropping on our party of seven tonight as we rolled walked back to the car, you would have heard us say:

"I won't need to eat again. Ever."

"Grandma, do you have any laxatives?"

"Where's the vomitorium?"

"I've got a 'food baby' in my stomach."

"That was a mistake."

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go pass out on the couch while I try to digest....

Hahaha! That's what vacations (& buffets) are for though.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Love it. I just updated my Facebook status tonight to vow to never ever eat at Taco Mac again. If you don't know what Taco Mac is then good for you. The baked (lol supposedly healthier than fried) wings I had make me wish I could vomit. But I hate to vomit so I won't. I blame my husband for picking the restaurant. I'm making him go jogging with me tomorrow morning and I just make him push the jogging stroller, too. Ugh.

I've got a food baby in my stomach???? I don't know if I am more amused or repulsed! :) Sure does paint a mental picture though!

What's really sad is that the food isn't all that good piled high and mixed together after all... about four years ago, I made a conscious decision to stay out of restaurants offering buffets because I have no ability to refuse my eyes coveting everything on the buffet... of course, on vacation, you go with the crowd, so just have a fantastic time and come home full (of happy memories, lots of pix, and resolutions)...

I love that Grandma got asked for the laxatives! Too funny. It seems that vacations are made for eating...I am enjoying lots of food, too!!
